Welcome to this week’s Weekly International Music News Roundup for Monday 21 to Friday 25 September 2026. It has been a busy few days for rock, metal, pop and alternative music, with major new album announcements, fresh singles, festival line-ups and plenty of tour news 2026 to catch up on.

U2 have announced their first album in nine years, Bullet For My Valentine are preparing a huge 2027 return, and Rock am Ring has revealed one of next summer’s strongest festival bills. Here is the latest international music news in a simple Friday roundup.

Albums & Announcements

U2 announce Carnaval De Luz

U2 have confirmed their 16th studio album, Carnaval De Luz, will arrive on 13 November 2026. It will be the band’s first full-length album of new material in nine years.

The 12-track record includes the new single “Silencio”, as well as “Torn”, which features the final recorded vocal performance by the late Dolly Parton. The collaboration gives the album an added sense of occasion, while the Portuguese title translates as “Carnival of Light”.

Bullet For My Valentine announce Social Apocalypse

Bullet For My Valentine have announced their eighth studio album, Social Apocalypse, for 19 March 2027. It will be their first album in more than five years, following their 2021 self-titled record.

The band have also shared the ferocious title track, which arrives with a new music video. The record will be supported by a major UK and European headline tour in early 2027, with dates including London, Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow.

Amon Amarth set a release date for The Allfather Awakens

Amon Amarth will release their new album The Allfather Awakens on 2 October 2026. The record will be the Swedish metal band’s 13th studio album and is expected to continue their long-running focus on Norse mythology and battle-ready metal.

The album is being released through Metal Blade Records, with pre-orders available across digital, CD, vinyl and cassette formats. Check the official Metal Blade announcement for more information.

Europe release Come This Madness

Europe’s new album, Come This Madness, is out today, 25 September. The release follows several preview tracks and marks another chapter for the Swedish rock veterans.

The band will also begin The Final Countdown 40th Anniversary Tour on 30 September in Glasgow. Many dates are already sold out or have limited tickets remaining, so fans should check Europe’s official tour information before making plans.

Michael Kiwanuka announces FUDGE

Michael Kiwanuka has announced his fifth studio album, FUDGE, for 23 October 2026. The album is described as a more self-produced and personal project, with a sound built around optimism, warmth and freedom.

Taylor Swift adds four new songs

Taylor Swift has released four new songs as part of The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore. The new tracks are “Patient Zero”, “Cleveland!”, “Pink Clouding” and “Babylon”.

Tours & Festivals

Rock am Ring and Rock im Park reveal their first 2027 line-up

Rock am Ring and Rock im Park will return from 4–6 June 2027, with both festivals sharing a huge first line-up announcement.

The three headliners are blink-182, Die Toten Hosen and Bring Me The Horizon. Other confirmed names include Faith No More, Parkway Drive, Billy Talent, Evanescence, Turnstile, Falling In Reverse and The Prodigy.

Rock am Ring takes place at the Nürburgring, while Rock im Park is held in Nuremberg. The two festivals will feature different daily schedules, giving fans plenty to compare when planning a German festival weekend. See the official Rock am Ring announcement for the current line-up.

Architects join Korn’s European arena tour

Architects have released their new single “Machine” and will join Korn on their UK and European arena tour.

The tour begins on 18 October 2026 in Stuttgart, Germany, before moving through major venues across Europe and the UK. UK dates include Leeds, Birmingham, Newcastle, Manchester and London.

Enslaved and Sólstafir announce 2027 co-headline tour

Enslaved have released “Tales Of Trees” and announced a 2027 co-headline UK and European tour with Sólstafir.

The tour will visit cities across Europe during February, with London’s Electric Ballroom currently listed as the only UK date. Gaahls Wyrd will provide support across the run. Tickets go on general sale through the bands’ official channels.

Trivium begin North American tour in November

Trivium’s North American headline tour begins on 5 November 2026 in St. Petersburg, Florida. The 32-date run will continue through the United States and Canada before finishing in Charlotte on 19 December.

Support comes from In Flames, Orbit Culture, Fit For An Autopsy and Frozen Soul. Fans can check the official Trivium tour page for the complete list of dates.

Crypta prepare for North American shows

Crypta have announced a North American tour campaign alongside the release of their new single and video “A Portrait Of Decay”. The run begins on 5 October in Riverside, California, with Arch Enemy, The Black Dahlia Murder, Septicflesh and Thrown Into Exile also involved across the bill.
