Whether you’re into the heavy hitting riffs of metalcore, the gritty storytelling of punk, or the legendary status of rock icons, there is something for everyone in this week’s headlines.

NEW ALBUM RELEASES: FRIDAY, JULY 17
Today is a massive day for new music. If your headphones aren't already glued to your ears, here is what you should be spinning right now.
Motionless In White – 'Decades'
The wait is finally over. Scrantonian metalcore titans Motionless In White have officially released their seventh studio album, Decades, today via Roadrunner Records. This isn’t just another album; it’s a celebration of the band’s 20th anniversary, and they’ve pulled out all the stops.
The album features some incredible collaborations that have been the talk of the industry for months. The standout track "Playing God" features the legendary Corey Taylor (Slipknot/Stone Sour), bringing a raw intensity that perfectly complements Chris Motionless's signature vocals. We also get a hauntingly beautiful performance from Skylar Grey on the track "R.I.P."
Decades feels like a culmination of everything the band has built over the last twenty years: blending their gothic roots with modern, cinematic production. It’s heavy, it’s melodic, and it’s exactly what the scene needs right now.
The Menzingers – 'Everything I Ever Saw'
If you prefer your rock with a side of heart-on-sleeve punk rock storytelling, The Menzingers have you covered. Their new album Everything I Ever Saw is out today via Epitaph Records. To celebrate the release, the band is playing a special show at the iconic Stone Pony in Asbury Park tonight. If you’re lucky enough to be in New Jersey, that’s the place to be. This record continues their streak of writing anthems for the "grown-up punk," filled with nostalgia, grit, and those soaring choruses that make them a fan favorite at festivals worldwide.
Tesla – 'Homage'
The legends are back! Tesla has released Homage today, a full-length covers album that pays tribute to the artists who influenced their journey. It’s a masterclass in classic rock appreciation, with the band putting their own bluesy, hard-rock spin on tracks that shaped the genre. It’s a great summer listen for anyone who appreciates the roots of the Rock Universe.
Yard Act – 'You're Gonna Need A Little Music'
Post-punk fans, rejoice. Yard Act has dropped their third studio album, You're Gonna Need A Little Music. Produced by the legendary Justin Meldal-Johnsen (known for his work with Beck, M83, and Paramore), this record sees the band expanding their sound while keeping that razor-sharp wit and rhythmic drive that put them on the map. It’s clever, groovy, and undeniably British.
THE NEXT WAVE: UPCOMING ALBUMS TO WATCH
The news doesn’t stop with today’s releases. We’ve had a flurry of announcements for albums dropping later this summer and into the autumn.
The Strokes – 'Reality Awaits' (July 24)
Next week is looking just as big, as The Strokes are set to release Reality Awaits on July 24. Produced by the one and only Rick Rubin, this album was largely recorded in Costa Rica, and the lead single "Going Shopping" has already given us a taste of that classic Strokes cool mixed with Rubin’s legendary production touch.
The band has also announced a massive hometown show at Flushing Meadows on October 2, featuring an incredible support lineup including Beach House and TV on the Radio. It’s shaping up to be one of the biggest NYC shows of the decade.
Mastodon – 'Marrow Deep' (August 28)
August is going to be heavy. Mastodon will release Marrow Deep on August 28. This marks a new chapter for the band, being their first album since the departure of Brent Hinds. Fans have been eager to hear how the sound has evolved, and the new single "Snakes For Dinner," which features a guest spot from Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age), proves that Mastodon is as formidable as ever.
Beck – 'Ride Lonesome' (September 18)
It’s been seven long years, but Beck is finally returning with a new studio album. Ride Lonesome is set for release on September 18. The lead single "In The Night" is out now, and it’s a perfect reminder of why Beck remains one of the most innovative voices in music. To support the release, he’ll be heading out on a North American tour starting September 16 in Vancouver.
ON THE ROAD: TOUR ANNOUNCEMENTS
If you’re looking to catch some live music, your calendar is about to get very busy.
- Bob Dylan: The "Never Ending Tour" continues with a 2026 UK run. The highlight is a prestigious five-night residency at London’s Royal Festival Hall from December 3–8. Tickets go on sale July 22, and these will go fast.
- Mastodon & Deafheaven: Supporting their new album, Mastodon will hit the road for the 'Poisonous Weapons' tour throughout September and October 2026, bringing along Deafheaven and Alcest for a triple-threat of heavy, atmospheric mastery.
- Soulfly: Max Cavalera is bringing Soulfly back for a Fall US tour that features a very special treat: Nailbomb will be on the bill for their first US tour in over 30 years! Incite rounds out the lineup for what promises to be a legendary run of shows.
- Candlebox: For those who love that 90s alt-rock sound, Candlebox has announced their 'Can't Quit You' Fall 2026 tour, spanning 32 dates across North America.
FESTIVAL FEVER: 2026 LINEUPS REVEALED
The festival circuit for late 2026 and even early 2027 is already taking shape, and the lineups are nothing short of spectacular.
Ocean Way Festival (Santa Monica)
Goldenvoice has announced their inaugural beachfront festival, Ocean Way, taking place in Santa Monica on September 26–27. The lineup is a perfect mix of rock, indie, and soulful vibes, featuring The Killers, Jack White, Olivia Dean, Khruangbin, Sublime, and Alvvays. Watching Jack White play with the Pacific Ocean as a backdrop? Sign us up.
Reading & Leeds 2026
Across the pond, Reading & Leeds has announced a major staging overhaul for 2026. They are moving to a six-stage setup to accommodate one of their most diverse lineups yet. Headliners include Charli XCX (in her only UK festival appearance of the year), Fontaines D.C., Dave, Florence + The Machine, RAYE, and Chase & Status. Leeds is also getting a new Thursday main stage slot, effectively making it a four-day festival for the first time.
Summer Sonic 2026 (Japan)
Japan’s premier festival, Summer Sonic, has announced its full 25th-anniversary lineup for August 15–17. As one of the most respected international festivals, the 2026 edition promises to be their biggest yet, celebrating a quarter-century of bringing global superstars to Tokyo and Osaka.
